Awarding of diplomatic passports to BiH scientists
The President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, academician Prof. Dr. Izet Rađa, attended the awarding of diplomatic passports to deserving Bosnian and international scholars who, through their work and scientific achievements, demonstrate that sports and science are closely connected in all fields of organization and action.
These prestigious recognitions for significant contributions to science in Bosnia and Herzegovina were awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, while the President of the OK BiH, academician Rađa, presented the minister with a recently published book commemorating the 40th anniversary of the organization of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games.
Among the recipients of diplomatic passports from Bosnia and Herzegovina is the president of the Olympic Committee of BiH's partner organization - the International Academy of Sciences and Arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, academician Asim Kurjak, recognized as one of the top 2% of the most cited scientists in the world. The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Academy of Sciences and Arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina formalized their partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation.
Academician Asim Kurjak, President of IANU BiH, is an emeritus professor at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology and the president of the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine. He is the author of 1,217 scientific and professional papers, cited 16,322 times, with an h-index of 70 (as of August 9, 2023). He has written or edited 123 books in 12 languages, making him one of the most productive scientists in the world. He has received more than ten awards, including the state award for young scientists and the HAZU award for medical science. He is a member of several academies, including the Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts, as well as a member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
