European Week of Sports organized by the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina

As part of the project "EU4Youth - European Week of Sports Beyond Borders in the Western Balkans", co-financed by the European Union, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina in September marks the European Week of Sports by organizing a series of activities and sporting events.

European Week of Sports is an initiative of the European Commission to promote sports and physical activity throughout Europe under the slogan #BeActive. Therefore, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina aims to promote and raise awareness of the need to increase physical activity and sports among the general public throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first School Run event will be held on September 19 in Sarajevo, starting at 09:30 in Ferhadija Street, in front of the Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures sign. This event will be organized together with the Sarajevo Marathon Association, with the aim of raising awareness of the benefits of sports and physical activity among the younger population. The race is open to primary and secondary school students, and you can register for it via the website of the Sarajevo Marathon Association.

Sports demonstration activities will be held on the same day, while all participants who successfully pass the finish line will receive special gifts provided by the Olympic Committee of BiH

We are hanging out at the Travnik Stadium on September 25, starting at 10:30 a.m., organized by the PS MAYA Education Center and the Municipality of Travnik. On that day, all participants will have the opportunity to try more sports through sports activities, and participation is open to all age categories because the sport has the power to bring together individuals of all generations in a unique sense of community, contribute to personal happiness and improve mental and physical health.

The ambassadors of the European Sports Week are our great top athletes Lejla Tanović and Lana Pudar, who actively live sport, its values and ideals, spreading a positive attitude and influence on the wider community.

Participation in all events within the European Sports Week is free, but due to the current restrictive measures, we ask all those interested to follow the social networks of the Olympic Committee of BiH, where information will be provided on how and in what way it is possible to apply.

We remind you of the Prize Game on the Instagram profile of OK BiH, where participants have the opportunity to win one of the valuable prizes - a bicycle, rollerblades or a hiking set.

So, let's start, #BeActive, because physical activity encourages creativity - it is a source of joy and achievement.
