How to get an Olympic medal...?!

The promotion of the book "Evaluation of the Olympic Sports System of Bosnia and Herzegovina" by Dr. Izet Rađo, Dr. Dejana Planinčić and Dr. Said Fazlagić was held at the premises of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first work in BiH that comprehensively evaluates the Olympic sports federations of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the context of the domestic sports system and in relation to sports systems from the region was presented.

The reviewers of the book are academician Velimir Srića, Prof. Dr. Zoran Milošević, academician Almir Badnjević, the Minister of Sport and Culture of Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, the President of the Athletes' Commission of the NOC BiH, Amel Tuka, and the President of the Badminton Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brane Srdić.

The study teaches us how to overcome the status quo, which leads nowhere.

The research dramatically indicates that the world outside Bosnia and Herzegovina is constantly changing and operating under different norms, and that we are increasingly falling behind.

The study provides scientific facts translated into recommendations, which have helped us piece together a puzzle on how to move forward.

The research conducted for the book offers solutions for improving practices in six fundamental factors that form the backbone of Olympic sports organizations, highlighting key performance indicators aimed at enhancing areas such as human and financial resources, management, administration, sports activities, and marketing.

The book expands knowledge of existing structures and practices in Bosnian sports, shedding light on the need for thoughtful planning and implementation of changes that are essential for improving the sports system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are convinced that the results of this book and its recommendations will be beneficial to all those striving for a better future for sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially the ministries responsible for sports, sports federations, and clubs. We believe it will contribute to creating clearer guidelines for future actions and initiatives so that the results of our athletes become the norm rather than an incident, and that they are the product of a well-designed sports system.

By implementing the recommendations from the research, guidelines will be created within the sports system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, enabling the necessary changes that will unlock the potential and talent of our homeland as a successful sports nation.
