NOC BiH visited the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports
Continuation of the activities of the BiH Olympic Committee to increase the budget for top-level sports at all levels.
Representatives of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, President academician Prof. Dr. Izet Rađo and General Secretary Doc. Dr. Said Fazlagić, visited the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević, today. This visit represents a continuation of the efforts of the Olympic Committee of BiH and the Athletes' Commission of BiH to increase the budget for elite athletes and create optimal conditions for the upcoming Olympic Games.
The main topics of discussion were securing adequate financial resources to support athletes preparing for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, as well as the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games. Representatives of NOC BIH emphasized that the current budgets are insufficient for a quality (and quantitative) participation in these significant sporting events, and particularly inadequate for achieving top results, which further highlights the needs of Bosnian athletes in the upcoming Olympic cycle.
Minister Vlaisavljević expressed her understanding of the challenges faced by elite athletes and promised to advocate for the improvement of financial resources and support for sports programs.
On this occasion, the President of the Olympic Committee of BiH presented the minister with the book "40th Anniversary of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo," which was promoted in commemoration of the 41st anniversary of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo.
The visit and dialogue between NOC BiH and the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports represent some of the key steps toward strengthening the support system for Bosnian athletes, which will contribute to their success on the international and Olympic stage.
