OC BiH supported the brilliant Tea Kovačević with 15 000 KM
The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OC BiH), at its 35th session of the Executive Committee, decided to support our young Olympic hope - tennis player Teo Kovačević with 15,000 KM for her preparations and performances.
The OC BiH, as a non-budgetary user, has found a way to provide financial support for our most promising young tennis player who is achieving excellent results in the U16 age category even though she is only 14 years old. For the umpteenth time, the OC BiH has managed to secure financial resources when they are most needed, which will help Teo achieve her and our dreams at the very beginning of her career.
The OC BiH wants to show by its example that it is a responsible organization that cares about young and top athletes, although it is not responsible for financing sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With this gesture, the OC BiH wants to encourage those who have a duty to systematically solve the financing of top sports in BiH, which are the competent ministries at all levels of government and the Council of Ministers of BiH. We also want to invite all socially responsible and successful companies to sponsor Teo and other young talents, because we are sure that their results will justify every investment.
Although not competent, the OC BiH was the first to react in this case, to recognize and support Teo's talent and successes, which it has previously done with talents such as Lana Pudar, Ada Avdagić, Iman Avdić and many others. These young people bring pride to their country with their successes in international competitions and we hope that their basic needs and right to engage in top-level sports will finally be systematically resolved. Until then, the OC BiH will continue, in accordance with its maximum capabilities, to support them as it has done so far.
We congratulate Teo on her successes, as well as her coach, family, club, and the Tennis Federation of BiH, and we hope that she will again and very soon please us with her results and be a safe traveler to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
