Olympic Legacy 2019: education and competition
The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina is implementing an art-educational project called "Olympic Legacy" - to meet EYOF Sarajevo & East Sarajevo 2019
The project was conceived as a one-day art workshop preceded by lectures on the rich Olympic heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the past month, in order to promote the project, children from Sarajevo schools visited the Olympic Museum, an institution in charge of preserving and promoting the sporting and cultural heritage of our country. In addition to lectures, during the visit to the Museum, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the upcoming games EYOF Sarajevo & East Sarajevo 2019, and to hang out with the mascot Groodvy, which caused great enthusiasm among young people.
The President of the BiH Olympic Committee, Siniša Kisić, emphasized that this is a project that promotes real values - excellence, respect and friendship.
"The value of a project of this kind is that it nurtures Olympic values, as well as the past, present and future of Bosnian sport in accordance with the universal values of Olympism defined by the IOC Olympic Charter." Mr. Kisić pointed out that the role and significance of the Olympic Heritage project is that it is primarily a combination of sports, cultural and Olympic heritage in which our youngest citizens and students participate.
The project aims to promote Olympic values, but the competitive character should not be neglected. Within this project, young people from our country will have the opportunity to show their character skills on the theme of Olympism and the Olympic spirit at an art workshop to be held at the Olympic Museum (Alipasina bb, Zetra) on Thursday, January 31 from 10:00 to 13:00. It is planned to teach 60 talented students from all over the world who attend international schools in BiH, as well as students from Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.
