Olympic Legacy: an art workshop for pupils

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the promotional activities of EYOF 2019 Sarajevo & East Sarajevo, implemented the project "Olympic Legacy" whose participants are pupils of 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades of primary schools.

The project was designed as a one-day art workshop during which young people from our country had the opportunity to show their artistic skills on the theme of Olympism, Olympic heritage and the Olympic spirit.

60 talented students from international primary schools, schools from Sarajevo and schools from East Sarajevo participated. The works were judged by a three-member jury headed by the academic painter and director of the Olympic Museum, Edin Numankadić, and the best were given special gifts.

During the workshop, the young pupils hung out with the mascot Groodvy, which caused great enthusiasm.

"We enjoy drawing on the topic and we enjoy hanging out with Groodvy, he is beautiful and inspires us a lot," said the thirteen-year-old participant.

The President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Siniša Kisić, emphasized that this is a project that promotes the nurturing of true values - excellence, respect and friendship. "The value of a project of this kind is that it nurtures Olympic values, as well as the past, present and future of Bosnian sport." Mr. Kisić pointed out that the role and significance of the Olympic Legacy project is that it is primarily a combination of sports, cultural and Olympic heritage.
