The XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024 have been officially closed

The Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games took place tonight at the Stade de France. The event concluded 17 days of exciting competition and celebration of the most prestigious international multi-sport competition, the Olympic Games. The Closing Ceremony was a spectacular spectacle featuring over a hundred performers. The artistic performance presented visual spectacles, which, together with huge sets, costumes, and lighting effects, solemnly closed the XXXIII Summer Olympics.

In addition to the traditional parade of athletes, the medal ceremony for the final disciplines was also held. The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina was carried by two-time Olympian Lana Pudar at the Closing Ceremony.

During the Ceremony, addresses were given by the President of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, Tony Estanguet, and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Thomas Bach, after which, with the lowering of the Olympic flag, the Olympic anthem was sung. This was followed by the handover of the Olympic flag to the Mayor of the organizers of the next Summer Games Los Angeles 2028, and the performance of the United States anthem. The 33rd edition of the Summer Olympic Games in the capital of France was concluded with the extinguishing of the Olympic flame, the performance of the song My Way, and the traditional fireworks.

As a reminder, Bosnia and Herzegovina had five competitors in three sports at these Games – judo, swimming, and athletics. The best result was achieved by three-time Olympian Larisa Cerić, who achieved a high seventh place in the +78kg category. The second representative in judo, Aleksandra Samardžić, finished her debut performance among the 16 best Olympians in the up to 70kg category. Two-time Olympian Lana Pudar competed in the 100-meter (17th place in the qualifications) and 200-meter butterfly disciplines, where she achieved a 12th place. Swimmer Jovan Lekić, in his first appearance at the Olympic Games, took 30th place in the 400-meter freestyle, while athlete, three-time Olympian Mesud Pezer, achieved 26th place overall in the qualifications.

We congratulate and thank our athletes, their coaches, families, clubs and federations. We wish them luck and success in their upcoming sporting exploits, and we will continue to support them as we have done so far!
