We are celebrating the third birthday of EYOF 2019 Sarajevo and East Sarajevo

On this day three years ago, the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF 2019 Sarajevo and East Sarajevo were opened. After the Winter Olympics in 1984, this was the largest sporting event held from February 9 to 16, 2019 in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.

More than two thousand athletes, coaches, officials, and members of delegations from 46 European countries stayed in Olympic Sarajevo. Competitors from Portugal, the Netherlands, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Norway, Poland, Ireland, Russia, Luxembourg, Romania, Andorra, Great Britain, Austria, Slovakia, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Latvia, Hungary took part in the EYOF. , Slovenia, Estonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Spain, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Croatia, France, Georgia, Kosovo, Serbia, Turkey, and of course Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The opening ceremony had the symbolic name "We create together", which was attended by about 25,000 spectators.

Esma Alić, a young skier and four-time national champion, carried the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the opening of the EYOF. And the honor of lighting the flames at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium belonged to BH. judoka Larisa Cerić.
