“Banja Luka junior European Cup 2022”| Sara Marić won silver for
The European Judo Cup for juniors "Banja Luka junior European Cup 2022" was held last weekend in Laktaši. A total of 226 competitors from 24 countries took part. The most successful were the French competitors who won an incredible 19 medals, of which nine were gold, three silver, and seven bronze.
Representatives of Poland won eight medals, gold and three silver, and two bronze, while the third-placed national team in the overall standings was Hungary with nine medals, of which two gold and seven bronze.
The only medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina was won by Sara Marić in the +78 kg category. BH had a chance for bronze medals, competitors Mustafa Hebib and Ognjen Gazdić, but in the end they achieved 5th place.
The President of the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Branislav Crnogorac, was also the European Commissioner in Laktaši on behalf of the European Judo Union, and he congratulated the organizers during his address to the audience.
"Our Judo federation has a small budget, but a big heart. Events like this drive the whole country and I believe that in the future more children will play judo. Our results exceed the conditions in which we work, and the organization of such a European Cup for juniors can submit a much bigger title ", said Crnogorac.
The president of the Judo Federation of RS, Ognjen Pavlović, pointed out that he was happy for the organization of such an important competition.
"Judo Federation of Republika Srpska, as a member of the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was given the opportunity to be the technical organizer of such a quality competition. We nurture the idea of holding as many quality competitions as possible on the territory of our country, because, above all, in this way it is easier and simpler to enable our competitors to participate in European and World tournaments. Of course, from year to year, we will try to make this organization at a higher level, "Pavlović pointed out.
