BIH TEAM HEADED TO "YOG LAUSANNE 2020"
Today, a part of the BiH team departed from the Sarajevo airport to the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG), which will be held in Lausanne (Switzerland) from January 9 to 22, 2020.
Today, a part of the BiH team departed from the Sarajevo airport to the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG), which will be held in Lausanne (Switzerland) from January 9 to 22, 2020. After Innsbruck in 2012 and Lillehammer in 2016, Lausanne is hosting the third edition of the Winter YOG, which will be attended by over 1,800 young athletes aged 15 to 18 from more than 70 countries. Among the representatives of the 16 represented sports, the number of athletes has been equalized for the first time, and they will be located in two Olympic villages - in Lausanne and St. Moritz. Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by 9 athletes who will defend BiH colors in four sports (alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing and sledding). The BiH team at YOG Lausanne 2020 will be represented by the following athletes and coaches:

During their stay and meeting in the BiH Olympic Committee, the BiH team for YOG Lausanne 2020 consisting of our young athletes stated the following:
Đorđe Santrač: "I will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in cross-country skiing. I expect the best possible results, because we had a large number of preparations in the previous period. I think that I am ready and that I can achieve a good result and present our country in the best possible light. "
Aleksa Vuković: "I have been preparing for this competition since April, and so far I have done 500 hours of training and over 4,500 kilometers. I expect to reach the top three from this competition, and I will certainly do my best to ensure the best possible result. "
Esma Alić: "It is a great honor for me to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in such a big competition, and this is certainly a great experience and opportunity for me to meet new friends and get closer to my goal, and that is to participate in the Olympic Games."
Bearing in mind that the competitions are held at two remote locations (Lausanne and St. Moritz), the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the opening ceremony in Lausanne will be carried by skier Esma Alić, while the flag in St. Moritz will be carried by sled Hamza Pleho.
