European Senior U21 Taekwondo Championship officially opened

The European Senior U21 Taekwondo Championship, which will run until November 23, was opened yesterday with a ceremony in Sarajevo.

A large number of guests from cultural and public life attended the opening ceremony of the competition, which featured more than 560 competitors from 43 countries and was broadcast live on TV SA.

The Continental Championship was declared open by Davor Komšić, Vice President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he extended a warm welcome to the guests.

Member of the Presidency of the Taekwondo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the first person of the Taekwondo Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Samir Šarić, took this opportunity to present commemorative plaques, together with Branko Stanić, Vice President of the Taekwondo Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to all those who have made a significant contribution and selfless support to the development and better and higher quality organization of taekwondo sport in our country. Šarić especially thanked the European Taekwondo Federation for the trust shown, and on behalf of the "European Taekwondo House" he handed the Plaque to the Secretary General of the European Taekwondo Federation, Antonio Barbarino.

As a technical organizer, Šarić also presented plaques to Šahin Metin, Vice President of the European Taekwondo Federation, Kukkiwon representative Joan Kakbil, Vice President of the BiH Olympic Committee Davor Komšić, Olympic coach and selector of the Croatian national team Toni Tomas, and Olympic coach and director of the Serbian national team Dragan Jović.

In addition to 567 competitors, 223 officials arrived in the capital of our homeland for the prestigious competition.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Kukkiwon Demo team from Korea, and special guests demonstrated the beauty of taekwondo through attractive and spectacular moves.
