EYOF Vuokatti 2022 officially opened
The 15th Winter European Youth Olympic Festival was officially opened tonight in Vuokatti, Finland.
The participants were addressed by the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö, the President of the European Olympic Committees Spyros Capralos and the President of the EYOF Organizing Committee Mika Kilpeläinen, after which representatives of athletes, judges and coaches took the EYOF oath.
The program was adapted to the character of the Festival, which is intended for young athletes in Europe with a series of fun music and dance performances. According to the established practice, the Greek delegation opened the parade, and the representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina came out for the 7th time in a row. The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina was carried by Miloš Stević (cross-country skiing) and Zara Husedžinović (figure skating). The flame of peace in front of the Vuokatti Arena was brought by Finnish biathlete Kaisa Mäkäräinen and skier Matti Heikkinen, and then handed over to skier Vilma Nissinen, who had the honor of lighting the Flame of Peace, which officially opened the Festival.
