NOC BIH marks the 31st year since its admission to the IOC
The BIH Olympic Committee was founded on June 4, 1992 in Sarajevo.
The first Executive Committee consisted of prominent Olympians, athletes and sports workers: Mirza Delibašić, Mirsad Fazlagić, Čedo Gojković, Ahmed Karabegović, Dragan Nožica, Ante Raos, Mehmed Sokolović, Miroslav Šipek and Katica Šporer.
The position of the first President of the BiH Olympic Committee was held by Stjepan Kljuić, while the position of General Secretary was held by Izudin Filipović.
The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina became an associate member of the International Olympic Committee on July 23, 1992, and already on September 24, 1993, it was admitted to full membership, which is the official date of the accession of NOC BIH to the membership of the IOC.
The first appearance of the BiH Olympic team was recorded at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, and the members of our delegation were the following athletes and coaches:

This appearance of BiH athletes at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona was a symbolic victory for the people and sports workers who fought to preserve the Olympic heritage and connection with the world sports community, and is directly linked to the aspiration of all BiH athletes and members of the BiH Olympic Committee to become a full member of the Olympic Committee, which happened a year after their international appearance in Barcelona.
