OPENING OF THE EUROPEAN WEEK OF SPORTS IN SREBRENICA

The small field of FK Guber and the Football School for girls and young women in Srebrenica hosted the opening of the European Week of Sport 2024, under the slogan "Be Active."

This significant event began with the opening of the fourth football school for girls and young women, with FK Guber and the Association of Sports Veterans and Legends from Novi Sad as partners.

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina has proudly partnered with the Football School for girls and young women for the fourth year.

The host of the event, the football school coach, Ljiljana Stjepanović, and the founder of the Football School for girls and young women, emphasized the importance of sports and Olympism in the lives of youth.

All attendees highlighted that this activity is an opportunity for children to engage in sports and develop Olympic values through play and teamwork.

"Today, we witnessed the enthusiasm and energy of children involved in sports, which is a true reflection of the spirit of Olympism," stated Prof. Dr. Izet Rađa.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been the project coordinator since 2018.

"I am very pleased that Bosnia and Herzegovina is actively participating again this year in marking the European Week of Sport within the 'EU4Youth - European Week of Sport Beyond Borders in the Western Balkans' project. This project not only promotes physical activity but also strengthens values such as respect, friendship, and fairness, which are the foundation of the Olympic spirit. I invite all citizens, regardless of age, to join various sports events across the country and be part of this exceptional initiative," highlighted Minister Dubravka Bošnjak.

This initiative not only promotes physical activity among young people but also strengthens community ties and fosters friendship among cities. Given the enthusiasm and support, the football school is expected to continue its work and contribute to the development of young athletes in the region.
