Today is the 30th anniversary since the establishment of Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina

TODAY, EXACTLY 30 YEARS AGO, THE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA WAS ESTABLISHED.

Three decades earlier, on July 4, 1992, the founding assembly was chaired by the working Presidency composed of Ahmed Karabegović, Čedo Gojković, and Miroslav Šipek. Stjepan Kljuić was elected the first Chairman of the Committee.

After the founding and first appearance of our country's athletes at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 1992, which was also the first great victory of people loyal to sports, who in our country in difficult times of war preserved the Olympic heritage from total destruction, September 24 In 1993 in Monaco, the OC BiH was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

OK, BiH was then, on December 8, 2002, entered into the register of the Ministry of Justice as the first sports organization in which state sports federations unite. The entry in this register, as well as the previous signature of the Lausanne Declaration of July 28, 1999, constituted the umbrella sports body of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From 1992 until today, the Olympic Committee has participated in numerous competitions with more than 1,500 of the best athletes, and representatives of our country. The first medals were presented to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Mediterranean Games in Montpellier in 1993 by karate fighter Eldin Pekmez - bronze, and the first gold medals by boxer Almedin Fetahović and basketball players led by Razija Mujanović.

The first Executive Committee consisted of prominent Olympians, athletes, and sports workers: Mirza Delibašić, Mirsad Fazlagić, Čedo Gojković, Ahmed Karabegović, Dragan Nožica, Ante Raos, Mehmed Sokolović, Miroslav Šipek and Katica Šporer.

Until now, the function of the President of the Olympic Committee of BiH has been held by: Stjepan Kljuić, Bogić Bogićević, Ahmed Karabegović, Ljiljanko Naletilić, Zdravko Rađenović, prof.dr Nađa Avdibašić-Vukadinović, Siniša Kisić, Marijan Kvesić, prof.dr Izet Rađo iandprof.dr Milanko Mučibabić, while the position of Secretary General held the : Izudin Filipović, Sejdalija Mustafić and dr sci. Said Fazlagić.
