Toni Miletić won gold at the European Open in Ljubljana
In a highly competitive field at the Europe Open held this weekend in Ljubljana, judoka Toni Miletić from Bosnia and Herzegovina won the gold medal.
On his path to victory in the under 90 kg category, Miletić secured five wins. He consecutively defeated Daniel Pinter (Czech Republic), Marat Kryzhansky (Ukraine), and Segev Ben Hardoch (Israel), while in the semifinals, he overcame another Ukrainian representative, Stanislav Gunchenko.
Miletić confirmed that he is in excellent form at the beginning of this year by winning against Spaniard Daniel Nieto Trinidad, who currently ranks 58th in the world rankings.
"It is always nice to win a gold medal, especially at a competition like the Europe Open in Ljubljana, where the competition was exceptionally strong this time. I am pleased to have achieved such a result early in the year. I am confident that this will motivate me to work even better and more effectively in the upcoming period," said Miletić after his victory in Ljubljana.
