31 years since the establishing of the Olympic Committee of BIH

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded on June 4, 1992. Mr. Stjepan Kljuić was elected as the first President of the NOC, Mr. Uglješa Uzelac as deputy, and Mr. Izudin Filipović was elected as General Secretary. The founding assembly of the NOC BIH was chaired by Mr. Ahmed Karabegović.

After the establishment and the first performance of our country's athletes at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, it was followed by official recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which made its decision at the meeting of the Executive Committee in Monaco on September 24, 1993.

After its establishment and international recognition, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina was registered in the registry of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 8, 2002, as the first sports organization in which national sports federations join. By entering this register, as well as by signing the Lausanne Declaration of July 28, 1999, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina was constituted as the umbrella sports body of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first logo of the BIH Olympic Committee was created by the academic painter Mersad Berber.

The BiH Olympic Committee, as a member of the IOC, has undertaken to respect the rules of the Olympic Charter, the IOC Statute, the IOC Code of Ethics, the World Anti-Doping Code, the Joint Statement from Lausanne, the Law on Associations and Foundations of BiH, and the Law on Sports of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representatives of 20 sports federations - representatives of Olympic sports, distinguished sports workers, representatives of sports journalists, sports doctors, and physical culture pedagogues gathered at the Founding Assembly of the NOC BIH, namely:

Mehmed Sokolović, Petko Radović, Dezider Jurišić, Petko Radović, Vasilije Morović, Mirsad Fazlagić, Burazor Slavko, Ahmed Karabegović, Mersad Berber, Miroslav Šipeka, Davorin Popović, Mirza Delibašić, Memnum Idžaković, Stevica Krsmanović, Branislav Crnogorac, Ale Hasanbegović, Zdenko Brož, Uglješa Uzelac, Čedo Gojković, Dragan Nožica, Mladjen Talić, Faruk Talić, Marko Petrović, Enes Terzić, Izudin Filipović, Stjepan Kljujić, Namik Terzimehić, Ismet Arslanagić, Muhamed Masleša and Manojlo Čalija.

At this Assembly, the following members of the Executive Committee of the NOC BIH were elected:

Mirza Delibašić, Mirsad Fazlagić, Čedo Gojković, Ahmed Karabegović, Dragan Nožica, Ante Raos, Mehmed Sokolović, Miroslav Šipek i Katica Šporer.

Members of the first Supervisory Board of the NOC BIH were also elected: Muhamed Mujić - president, Vlatko Hrgic i Dako Radošević - members.
