On this day, 40 years ago, BC Bosna was at the basketball throne of Europe.

On April 5, 1979, the Basketball Club „Bosna“ achieved one of the most significant sporting successes of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Exactly 40 years ago, in Grenoble, France, led by Bogdan Tanjević, Sarajevo Students defeated the famous Italian Emerson 96: 93 in the final of the European Champions League.

On that day, Žarko Varajić and Mirza Delibašić were especially brilliant, and next to them stood: Boro Vučević, Predrag Beneček, Ante Đogić, Boško Bosiočić, Nihad Izić, Ratko Radovanović, Dragan Zrno, Sabit Hadžić, Svetislav Pešić, Almir Dervišbegović and Sulejman Duraković.
