Ambassador of China, H.E. Ji Ping visited NOC BIH
The purpose of today's meeting was to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Olympic Committee of China within the preparations and organization of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing 2022.
Ambassador of the People's Republic of China H.E. Ji Ping, visited the Olympic Committee of BiH, where he was hosted by the President of the OC BiH, Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo, and the Secretary General of the OC BiH, M.Sc. Said Fazlagić.
The purpose of today's meeting was to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Olympic Committee of China within the preparations and organization of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing 2022.
Ph.D. Izet Radjo emphasized that China and Beijing remained in the fond memory of the organization of the Summer Olympic Games, and that the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will crown that city as the only city that hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics. The President of the OC BiH also pointed out that the Olympic Committee of BiH provides scholarships to 9 athletes for preparations on the way to Beijing 2022.
Guided by the experience and excellently organized Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 and EYOF 2019, H.E. Ji Ping sent during the meeting an official request to the BiH Olympic Committee for joint cooperation and exchange of experiences in organizing major sporting events, especially in terms of human resources.
As China has always been a great friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina will offer a list and short biographies of professional coaches, athletes and managers who participated in the organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF Sarajevo and East Sarajevo 2019, to help prepare and organize Beijing 2022 Olympics. Finally, the President of the Olympic Committee presented the ambassador H.E. Ji Ping a symbolic gift, an official poster of the Sarajevo ’84 Winter Olympics and an Olympic scrapbook with the hope that in addition to economic, cultural and educational potential, the sports potential between the two countries will be strengthened.
The Director of the Olympic Museum, Mr. Edin Numankadić, hosted the delegation of the Chinese Embassy in BiH at the Olympic Museum, where the guests had the opportunity to see the permanent exhibition of the Museum.
