The Olympic Committee of BiH traditionally organizes the event 'Athlete of the Year.' This year's 'Selection' will take place at the premises of the Olympic Committee of BiH (Alipašina bb, Zetra, Sarajevo) with a live broadcast on FACE TV.

The selection will be conducted in 9 categories and exclusively according to the criteria set by the Olympic Committee of BiH (attached are the categories and criteria for nominations).

Participation in the 'Selection' is open to all BiH athletes, coaches, teams, and sports professionals belonging to the nominated categories.

Nomination proposals can be submitted in accordance with the aforementioned criteria and must be delivered no later than Monday, November 10, 2025. Proposals should be submitted through the relevant sports federations in BiH, and proposals not submitted by the specified date will not be considered.

Reminder:

All nomination proposals by category should be submitted on the letterhead of the BiH Federation, with the seal of the Federation and the signature of the responsible person of the Federation, who guarantees the authenticity of the data with his signature and seal, otherwise the proposals will not be considered.

CATEGORIES:

The selection of the athlete of the year is a sports event where the best results or the best placements of Bosnian athletes, sports teams and sports workers are publicly announced in the categories as follows, in accordance with the order of announcement:

• Best Young Athlete in the Junior Women's Category;
• Best Young Athlete in the Junior Men's Category;
• Most Successful Sports Club
• Most Successful National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Most Successful Coach
• Special Awards of the OC BiH:
  a) For the promotion of sports and Olympic values
  b) Sports worker, for many years of contribution to the development of sports
  c) Promoters of sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina
  d) Athlete or team from the family of non-Olympic sports
  e) Special award for outstanding sports results
  f) Award for support in the work of the OC BiH
  g) Award for media promotion of Olympic values
  h) For successful many years of coaching work
  i) Sports Ambassador
• Best Female Athlete in Senior Category
• Best Male Athlete in Senior Category
• Athlete of the Year

CONDITIONS:

The conditions that an applicant must meet for the basic categories (except special ones) in order for the professional association's application to be accepted are:
a) that he/she is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
b) that he/she is a member of a sports club from Bosnia and Herzegovina that is registered with the competent authority and that the club is a member of a professional association. (A sport can have only one professional association) or
c) that he/she is a member of a sports club from other countries, provided that the professional sports association from Bosnia and Herzegovina has given them permission to compete for it.
d) that he/she is not under suspension due to doping.
e) that the Application is accompanied by a Bulletin or Report from the competition certified by the President or Secretary General of the professional sports association of which he/she is a member.
f) that the application is completed on a single form prepared by the Commission, which will be submitted in the annex to the call.
g) that it is an Olympic sport (except for the Special Awards)
h) professional associations can nominate one male and one female athlete in one category with the two best results or placements, for the specified year.
