BeActive 2nd Pannonica Triathlon Cup & Super Kid Aquathlon

The Second Tuzla Pannonica Triathlon Cup, which is also the National Championship in the sprint distance, and the first Super Kid Aquathlon, organized by the Triathlon Club “Tuzla,” the Triathlon and Pentathlon Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and supported by the Olympic Committee of BiH, will be held in Tuzla on September 20 at three locations – the Pannonica lakes, in the city center, and at the Slana Banja promenade, as part of the celebration of the European Week of Sport.

Participants include members from seven clubs from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, and Rama, as well as recreational triathletes from all parts of BiH, joining the global #BeActive campaign and the European Week of Sport, which in Bosnia and Herzegovina is implemented as part of the “EU4Youth – European Week of Sport Beyond Borders in the Western Balkans” project, funded by the European Commission through the IPA program, in collaboration with the Olympic Committee of BiH and the Ministry of Family, Youth, and Sports of Republika Srpska, with coordination from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.

Participants aged 7 to 66 will demonstrate the strength and beauty of triathlon as an Olympic sport through their performances and desire to compete, highlighting the importance of physical activity and sports for the health of individuals and communities, both at a professional and recreational level.

“We are happy to be part of the European Week of Sport and to celebrate its anniversary and tenth year together. We are especially proud of the younger categories. The Super Kid Aquathlon includes swimming and running, and will take place at 11 AM in the Pannonica area. Additionally, the Second Tuzla Pannonica Triathlon Cup is interesting because the swimming will be done in the Australian way, with a so-called Aussie exit between the two lakes,” said Mirza Jamaković, the Deputy Director of the Second Tuzla Pannonica Triathlon Cup and President of the Board of the Triathlon and Pentathlon Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, inviting the public to support them.

Following the announcement of the winners for the younger categories, a ceremonial opening of this sports event will take place under the slogan #BeActive, followed by the start of the sprint triathlon for men and the start of the sprint triathlon for women in the senior category. The complete program and competition rules are available at www.triatlontuzla.com.

This event, following those in Cazin, Pale, Neum, Zenica, and Široki Brijeg, is one in a series that marks the European Week of Sport in our country, and it serves as a prelude to the central event of the #BeActive campaign in BiH, which will take place on Tuesday, September 23, in Visoko.
