BIH judokas excelled at the Sarajevo European Open 2024

Bosnian and Herzegovina's judokas achieved exceptional success at the Sarajevo European Open held on October 26th and 27th, winning a total of four medals – one gold, one silver and two bronze.

The first day of competition was particularly noteworthy thanks to representative Aleksandra Samardžić, who won the gold medal in the under 70 kg category. After excellent preliminary matches, Samardžić defeated Serbian competitor Jovana Čarakarević in the final, confirming her outstanding form and success achieved at the recent Olympic Games.

In the under 90 kg category, Božidar Vučurević secured a silver medal after winning three matches against competitors from Montenegro, Austria, and Serbia.

The bronze medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina was brought by Mustafa Hebib in the under 81 kg category, defeating representatives from Serbia, Slovenia, and Hungary. This is the second medal for 22-year-old Hebib at a continental Open, further confirming his potential.

Lana Bjelica also won a bronze medal, defeating her colleague Sara Marić in the match for third place in the over 78 kg category.

Bosnian representative Toni Miletić also competed in the under 90 kg category, where he was stopped in the "Golden score" during the fight for the bronze medal.
