Bosnia and Herzegovina's Olympic team for Milan Cortina 2026

Today at the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina premises the BiH Olympic team that will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, to be held from 6 to 22 February 2026, was officially presented.

The colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the world’s biggest sporting event will be defended by Elvedina Muzaferija, Strahinja Erić, Esma Alić, Marko Šljivić and Teodora Delipara.

Addressing those present, President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Prof. Dr. Izet Rađo, said:

“Tomorrow Bosnia and Herzegovina is not sending only athletes to the Olympic Games in Milan–Cortina; it is sending the character, perseverance and dignity of its people. Our Olympians are the pride of this country and the best proof that Bosnia and Herzegovina has talent, hard work and top sporting potential.

They are going to the Olympic Games not thanks to a well‑organized sports system, but despite its absence. This is a fact we owe both to the athletes and to the public. Bosnia and Herzegovina lacks a stable model for financing sport, a long‑term national sports strategy and systemic care for athletes during and after their sporting careers.

That is precisely why their participation in the Olympic Games is an even greater achievement. These athletes are not a product of the system; they are its conscience. They must not be heroes of improvisation nor depend on the enthusiasm of individuals. A state is measured not by words and congratulations, but by the systems it builds.

We wish our Olympians a safe journey, good health and a successful performance. They are already winners because they stood tall where many would have given up. As the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will continue to speak the truth clearly and responsibly: Bosnia and Herzegovina urgently needs a functional, sustainable and fair sports system, not for medals, but for the children, values and future of this country.

All of Bosnia and Herzegovina stands with its Olympians.”
