CEREMONY RECEPTION OF OC BiH ON THE OCCASION OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF WOG '84.
In the beautiful surroundings of the Olympic Museum, a festive reception was held to mark the jubilee - the 40th anniversary of the WOG Sarajevo ‘84.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of dignitaries, delegations of the International Olympic Committee, the NOC, representatives of the City of Sarajevo, BiH Olympians, top athletes and sports workers.
The jubilee was opened with a welcome address by the president of OCBiH, academician prof. dr Izet Rađo, who took this opportunity to thank everyone who graced this significant jubilee for the city of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina with their presence. He evoked memories of WOG Sarajevo '84, EYOF Sarajevo and East Sarajevo 2019, and recalled the idea of candidacy for YOG 2032, which would return the Olympic flame to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the third time.
The president of OC BiH also used the opportunity to thank the City Administration of Sarajevo, headed by the mayor Mrs. Benjamina Karić and the chairman of the City Council Jasmin Ademović, who recognized the importance of preserving history and Olympism, and made a selfless contribution to promotion and improvement of the Olympic movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This event would not be special without the presence of the most successful BiH Olympians from 1984.
As a sign of gratitude and memory of the results achieved by BiH Olympians, the president of OC BiH academician prof. Dr. Izet Rađo, vice-presidents Marijan Kvesić and Prof. Dr. Milanko Mučibabić, general secretary of OK BiH, Dr. Said Fazlagić and the general secretary of the Organizing committee ZOI'84 Mr. Ahmed Karabegović presented plaques to Zdravko Stojnić, Tomislav Lopatić, Zoran Ćosić, Bibija Kerla and Mario Franjić.
