Dragons' Great Start in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

The talented football players of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved their second victory in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, defeating Cyprus 2-1 at Bilino Polje.

With this triumph, the "Dragons" took the lead in Group H with six points from two matches.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's head coach, Sergej Barbarez, was pleased with the win and stated that they are favorites in the next two matches against San Marino. However, he also emphasized that he does not like to talk about being a favorite.

The President of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FSBiH), Vico Zeljković, highlighted that the first step has been taken.

“We believed, hoped, planned, and worked for this moment – for these six points. Few believed, but we knew we had the quality for that result."

Two upcoming matches against San Marino must be taken very seriously, and the team needs to approach the match against Austria with maximum effort, Zeljković emphasized.

"After more than 10 years, we’ve connected two victories at the start of the qualification, which in itself speaks to the value of this achievement."

Bosnia and Herzegovina's next game is on June 7th against San Marino.

We wish our players good luck, and we send our congratulations to Coach Barbarez, Director Spahić, all players and team members, and the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
