EWoS final event in Tuzla!

The final event of the #EuropeanWeekofSport was held at Tušanj Stadium on #BeInclusive day, featuring both children and adults—from the youngest to the oldest—who enjoyed athletics, football, basketball, long jump, and football alongside members of AK Sloboda Tehnograd and the Special Olympics in Bosnia and Herzegovina, demonstrating that sport knows no boundaries.

“It is important for children of all ages to engage in a healthy lifestyle and for the ministry to actively invest in sports,” stated Mr. Damir Gazdić, the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth of the Tuzla Canton.

When Delić Selimović, Executive Director of the Special Olympics in BiH, said: “Today's event is more than just sport; it showed that children with and without disabilities can achieve much more together, and this is proof that inclusion is not just talked about but lived. We thank the Olympic Committee of BiH for the trust to push the boundaries of sport and inclusion together."

Alongside the Special Olympics association in BiH and AK Sloboda Tehnograd, today's event was also attended by the athlete of the century from the city of Tuzla, Olympian Zlatan Saračević, Olympic coaches Nađa Avdibašić and Halid Gazibegović, and Olympian Kada Delić Selimović, representatives of the Sports Federation of TK, as well as promising athlete Bakir Musić and other young hopes from AK Sloboda Tehnograd.

The European Week of Sport and the #BeActive campaign were launched by the initiative of the European Commission in 2015. The celebration of the European Week of Sport is financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program and implemented by the Olympic Committee of BiH in coordination with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.

The Olympic Committee of BiH, with the support of the EU and partners, has connected over nine cities through sport and play, nurturing the finest sports values.

The European Week of Sport not only promotes the importance of sport and activity but also raises awareness of the importance of inclusion and equality in sports.
