EYOF 2019 officially opened

The opening ceremony of EYOF 2019 was held tonight in Sarajevo at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadium in front of 35,000 spectators. The Olympic flame was lit by Larisa Cerić, the best athlete for 2018 in the selection of the Olympic Committee of BiH in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The opening ceremony of EYOF 2019 was held tonight in Sarajevo at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadium in front of 35,000 spectators.

The Olympic flame at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadium was lit by Larisa Cerić, the best athlete for 2018 in the selection of the Olympic Committee of BiH in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The opening ceremony was held under the slogan "We create together". Competitors from 46 countries paraded on the field.

EYOF (European Youth Olympic Festival) is the largest Olympic sports festival for young athletes between 14 and 18 years. A winter and summer festival is organized every two years.

Competitors from Portugal, the Netherlands, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Norway, Poland, Ireland, Russia, Luxembourg, Romania, Andorra, Great Britain, Austria, Slovakia, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Latvia will take part in this year's EYOF. Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Spain, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Croatia, France, Georgia, Kosovo, Serbia, Turkey and of course Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Competitors, 1,700 of them come from 46 countries, and we will watch competitions in alpine skiing, biathlon, Nordic running, snowboarding, ice hockey, speed skating, figure skating and curling.

Representatives of BiH:

In alpine skiing will perform: Nina Petrović, Esma Alić, Aiša Kantardžić, Ajlin Zuhrić, Harun Kunovac, Salih Hasanbegović, Kemal Karić and Strahinja Arnaut.

In cross-country skiing and biathlon will perform: Marija Jokić, Anđela Samardžija, Andrija Jugović, Luka Vrećo, Aleksa Vuković, Predrag Pantić, Uroš Lalović, Davor Škipina. In cross-country skiing, we have two representatives, Nikola Gavrilović and Đordje Santrač.

In speed skating we will be represented by Sumeja Zaimović, and in snowboarding by Selina Memić and Asja Klačar.
