The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Elmedin Hećo.

A former member of our national judo and bobsled team, and a successful powerlifting competitor - Elmedin Hećo has tragically lost his life in a car accident near Sarajevo. In the early 2000s, Elmedin participated with great success for the national judo team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then together with Salih Kaljevic in 2006 achieved the best result in bobsleigh for our country - 1st place in the Tyrol Cup. In recent years, in addition to coaching and raising the performance of many BiH athletes, Elmedin Hećo competed in powerlifting, where he won a gold medal at the European Championship in Istanbul last year.
