IN MEMORIAM | HASAN FAZLIĆ
One of the greatest caricaturists of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hasan Fazlić, the author of the cult cartoons of the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympic Games, passed away at the age of 86.
Cartoonist and painter Hasan Fazlić was born in Lipnica on October 8, 1937.
Fazlić studied with the famous painter Dragiša Trifković and the sculptor Franja Leder. Later, he attended a painting school led by the great painter Ismet Mujezinović.
He was an employee of the "Freedom Front", where he had previously published drawings and cartoons. There he gained full affirmation and started publishing caricatures in newspapers: Borba, Politika, Mladost, NIN i Jež (Belgrade), Vjesnik i Danas (Zagreb), Naši dani, Svijet i Oslobođenje (Sarajevo), Delo i Pavliha (Ljubljana), Nova Makedonija i Osten (Skopje), Krokodil (Moscow), Pardon i FrankfurteralgemeineZeitung (Germany), Help, Oggi, Eureka i La stampa (Italy), Perspektiva (Poland), Stršel (Bulgaria), Nebelspalter (Sweeden), Kayhancaricature (Iran) and many others. He was also a member of the Society of Journalists of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In his rich career, the most significant artistic achievement that experienced global success and popularity and promoted Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the famous caricatures on the subject of the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympics, which you can view in the photo gallery.
