Information about the results of Mesud Pezer, a candidate for the Paris 2024 Olympics

The Athletics Federation of BiH informed the OK BiH about the results, successes and activities of Mesud Pezer, a candidate for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

The results and placements achieved by Pezer in the period from January 1 to March 12, 2024 are:

1st place (21.22m, 1194 points) - Belgrade Open Indoor Championship, Belgrade (i), SRB / 17.01.2024.

2nd place (20.61m, 1157 points) - CMCM indoor meeting, Luxembourg (i), LUX / 21.01.2024.

3rd place (21.12m, 1188 points) - Indoor meet - shot put, Nordhausen (i), GER / 28.01.2024.

1st place (20.75m, 1166 points) - Balkan Indoor Championship, Istanbul (i), TUR / 10.02.2024.

2nd place (21.42m, 1206 points) - Athletics indoor meeting, Belgrade (i), SRB / 13.02.2024.

9th place (20.41m, 1145 points) - World Indoor Championships, Glasgow (i), (GBR) / 01.03.2024.

3rd place (20.58m, 1156 points) - European Throwing Cup, Leiria (POR) / 11.03.2024.


During this period, Pezer set the senior indoor state record twice (21.22m and 21.42m), and won a gold medal at the Balkan Indoor Championships and a bronze medal at the European Throwing Cup.

According to the valid qualification system for the OI Paris 2024, Pezer is an almost certain participant in this competition.

The Athletics Federation also reported that there is a high probability that at one of the upcoming competitions, Mesud Pezer will meet the unique standard of 21.50m, which is only 8 cm behind. The deadline for fulfilling the norm is June 30.

However, if he does not meet the norm, Mesud has a guaranteed place, based on his position on the world ranking list, where he is in 16th place on the list of qualified athletes.
