Lejla Njemčević achieved a career victory at the World Cup
The best BiH cyclist Lejla Njemčević had a masterful performance at the World Cup in France, where she recorded one of the most convincing victories.
The race was held on a 100-kilometer course with an altitude gain of 5,000 meters and is considered the toughest in the World Series. Njemčević completed the race with a time of 6 hours and 40 minutes, leaving second-place American Hannah Rea Otto behind by 13 minutes and 33 seconds.
Third place was taken by Vera Losser, who was 16 minutes and 32 seconds behind Lejla.
"I am very happy that I won first place in the most difficult World Cup race that has ever been run, with 100 kilometers in length and 5,000 meters of ascent. Now I will wear the shirt of the leader of the World Marathon Series and I am extremely happy that I was able to represent BiH in the best way at the biggest competition in mountain biking," said Njemčević after the race.
Njemčević is now the leader in the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series with 450 points.
The next race for our competitor is the Balkan Championship in Blidinje, which is also the last preparation before the European Championship, which is held in Denmark in mid-August.
