Mirza Nikolajev, who will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in luge, successfully landed in the Olympic Village. He also did a mandatory walk down the track which was one of the prerequisites for Mirza to compete in the Beijing 2022 Olympics.

He shared with us his first impressions:

"This is my first stay in the Olympic Village since this is my first Winter Olympics and I must admit that everything is very nicely arranged. The rooms are very comfortable we have the ability to use the internet and all the apps and we also have assistants to help us with the translation because you know here in China not everyone really speaks English. I am happy to have had the opportunity to meet a bob team from Brazil and America, and a female monobob from the Netherlands. As is the custom at the Olympics, we all exchange badges, while ours I must admit are highly sought after. We have to do tests on COVID-19 every morning, which means that the Beijing 2022 organizers have taken all measures to stay safe. As far as the trail is concerned, this is the biggest trail, but for me, it is not an obstacle but a challenge. I have two more days of training until the Beijing 2022 Opening Ceremony and my first race. In short, I am delighted with these Winter Olympics and I am sure that my enthusiasm will remain until the very end. "

Mirza will have intensive training before his first appearance, and we wish him good luck and good health at his first Winter Olympics.
