NOC BIH: the 2nd Seminar of Sports Medicine successfully organized
This seminar is a continuation of the activities of the successfully organized First seminar in 2017, and aims to improve the already established platform of sports medicine, through education and lectures of renowned experts in the field of training, medicine and physiotherapy, who are directly involved in working with the athletes.
On November 21, 2019, in the premises and in the organization of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee and the IOC Olympic Solidarity, the Second Seminar of Sports Medicine was held. This seminar is a continuation of the activities of the successfully organized First seminar in 2017, and aims to improve the already established platform of sports medicine, through education and lectures of renowned experts in the field of training, medicine and physiotherapy, who are directly involved in working with the athletes.
The seminar was opened by prof.dr. Izet Radjo, President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, who addressed the audience on behalf of the Vice Presidents of OC BiH Marijan Kvesic and Sinisa Kisic, the Executive Committee of OC BiH, Secretary General of OC BiH Said Fazlagic, as well as on his own behalf, and wished everyone a sincere and warm welcome. "We owe a great deal of gratitude to the IOC, President Dr. Thomas Bach, the International Olympic Committee's Health Commission and Olympic Solidarity, who have provided us with selfless support as important partners in this endeavor. I would like to express my gratitude to all the members of the Health Commission of the OC BiH, especially to the President, prim. dr Taib Delić, who recognized the importance of education in sports medicine and organized a very prestigious seminar for the second time. The curiosity of this seminar is that the lecturers are two former Olympians, prof.dr. Adnan Dizdar and mr.sci. Edin Krupalija. Athletes are in the heart of the BiH Olympic Committee, and these seminars are specially created for their needs and the needs of sports professional federations of BiH. I am really glad that the participants of this seminar responded and took the time to participate in this event, especially having in mind their position, the nature of their work, and the numerous work obligations and challenges they face every day," said the President of OC BiH prof.dr. Rađo.
Prim. dr Taib Delić, President of the Health Commission of OC BiH and moderator of today's Seminar thanked the Olympic Committee of BiH for organizing the Second Seminar of Sports Medicine, which already has indications that it will become a traditional seminar organized by OC BiH According to Prim Dr. Delić: "Multidisciplinary approach to various specialties of orthopedists, internists, nutritionists, cardiologists, physiatrists, etc. is the only right way to help athletes in injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation." Ph.D. Dizdar referred to the previously organized seminar, which was of an international character, with lecturers from the region, while today's seminar was organized with very high quality lecturers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and prof. Dizdar further says: "In a very nice edition, the Olympic Committee of BiH organized the Second Seminar of Sports Medicine, which puts sport in focus and with the aim of applying the theory in practice, something that is necessary in our country." After the sessions, a discussion was held during which the participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the lecturers. Each participant in the Second Seminar of Sports Medicine organized by the Olympic Committee of BiH was awarded a Certificate of Participation signed by the President of the IOC, Mr. Thomas Bach, and each participant was scored by the Medical / Medical Chamber of Sarajevo Canton. The program of the Second Seminar of Sports Medicine was conceived on the basis of sessions, more precisely, two sessions were held in the following order:
