The opening ceremony, which will take place on July 26, starting at 19:30, will be a spectacular event. For the first time in history, the ceremony will take place outside the traditional stadium, on the famous river Seine, which flows through the heart of Paris. In more than 160 ships, delegations from over 200 countries will carry their flags, creating a fleet that will be unforgettable for all spectators.

More than 600,000 spectators are expected along the banks of the Seine, making this ceremony one of the biggest ever. Spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy impressive fireworks, stunning lighting effects, and a rich cultural program celebrating the art and history of Paris. This innovative approach to the opening of the Games perfectly reflects the spirit of Paris as a city of light and art.

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina is proud that our athletes will be part of this great sports event, which gathers the best athletes from all over the world. We expect outstanding performances and top results from our representatives, who have prepared hard to represent our country worthily.

The Olympic Games "Paris 2024" are in many ways a special edition. Paris is the host city for the third time. The first time was in 1900, then in 1924, and now in 2024. Many events, including swimming and kayaking races, will be held in the center of the city, allowing for incredible sights and giving spectators a unique perspective. The organizers are committed to sustainability and ecology. 95% of sports facilities will be renovated or existing facilities will be used, while all facilities will be "green" and environmentally friendly. Also, these are the first Olympic Games with equal participation of male and female athletes.

The concept of the Ceremony held under the slogan "Games wide open" aims to make the Olympic Games open to all, regardless of origin, gender, or ability. The aim is to make the Games accessible and inclusive for athletes and spectators from all walks of life. The slogan symbolically reflects the spirit of the Olympic Games as a platform for global connectivity, innovation and inclusion.

Traditionally, the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games will consist of a number of events, including an artistic program, a parade of athletes, the lighting of the Olympic flame, and the symbolic release of doves of peace.

The Paris Olympic Games will feature around 10,500 athletes from over 200 countries competing in 36 sports. The Games will cover a wide range of sports disciplines, including new sports such as breaking, skateboarding, surfing, and sport climbing, along with traditional Olympic sports.

The ceremonial parade of 205 delegations traditionally begins with the exit of the Greek delegation, followed by the parade of the Olympic Refugee Team delegation, and the last in line will be the delegation of the host Games - the French Olympic Team.

These Games will surely show that our strength lies in unity, and as the whole world follows the greatest sports event behind the "small screens", let us be guided by the motto of the Olympic Movement.
