Preparations and statements of the BiH team
Marko Đurić, who competes in the discipline "Swimming with fins" at 200 meters and 2 kilometers in open water, in the last three months has been preparing at three locations, Zagreb, Korčula and Tuzla with also four preparatory competitions.
"My expectations for the performance are a better position than the last Games, when I finished with the fifth place, and my priority will be the two-kilometer race in open waters."
Two competitors, Nermin Palić and Mladen Stevanović, compete in the Aquathlon discipline. Nermin Palić finished the Ironman Triathlon a month ago, and accordingly, as part of his preparations for the Second Mediterranean Beach Games, he adjusted his training to a shorter distance (running, 2.5 km, swimming 1 km, running 2.5 km). It is very similar with Mladen Stevanović, who won 7th place at the World Championship in running at 100 kilometers last year.
Mladen Stevanović says: "I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina for recognizing our sporting successes. It is a great honor and pleasure to perform at the Mediterranean Beach Games as a member of the Olympic family of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but at the same time it is a great responsibility and obligation, which gives us the incentive to give our best to achieve the best results. "
Opening and Closing Ceremony of the Games
The opening ceremony of the Games is planned for August 25 and will be held at the "Artemis" place. The aim of this event is to emphasize unity, solidarity and friendship between the countries of the Mediterranean Sea. The closing ceremony will be held on August 31 at the same venue as the opening and it will mark the end of the Games. At the closing, the ICMG flag will be handed over to the host country of the next Mediterranean Beach Games, which is Algeria.
