Remembering the founding of the NOC BIH

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina was officially founded on June 4, 1992, and Mr. Stjepan Kljuić was elected as the first President. We included personal and sports leaders such as Uglješa Uzelac, Izudin Filipović and President Ahmed Karabegović, whose first chairman of the Founding Assembly he was also.

After the first appearance of our athletes at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, the IOC officially recognized our Olympic Federation on September 24, 1993 in Monaco!

In 2002, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina was registered with the Ministry of Justice, thus becoming the country's umbrella sports body. The coat of arms was designed by academic painter Mersad Berber.

As a member of the IOC, we respect the Olympic Charter, the Code of Ethics, the ban on doping and legal provisions, because we are dedicated to the development of sports and fair play! The Founding Assembly brought together 20 sports federations, representatives of sports workers, journalists and experts, and top experts and sports workers were elected to the highest positions!
