ROWING: Technical course for coaches held in Visegrad
This is the first event of its kind in our country, and the Rowing Federation of BiH and Visegrad as a rowing and sports site, in the opinion of experts have proven to be excellent hosts with excellent natural resources, infrastructure and manpower.
The Rowing Federation of BiH, in cooperation with the Olympic Committee of BiH, the World Rowing Federation (FISA), and the Olympic Solidarity, organized a Technical Course for rowing coaches in Visegrad from 19th to 26th July,2020. Over 40 rowers, coaches and lecturers from 6 countries participated in the course.
This is the first event of its kind in our country, and the Rowing Federation of BiH and Visegrad as a rowing and sports site, in the opinion of experts have proven to be excellent hosts with excellent natural resources, infrastructure and manpower that allow this and future international professional camps, as well as other events organized by world and regional rowing associations, the hosting in our country.
Leading lecturers were British Rosie Meiglolting, a former participant in the Olympics, chair of the FISA competition commission and member of the FISA board of directors, Nebojsa Ilic, national coach of the Turkish rowing team and member of the selection committee of the Serbian Rowing Federation. On the seven-day course, with lectures and trainings, the participating coaches mastered the basics of rowing techniques and water safety and successfully obtained the official A1 and A2 rowing coaching certificates. Among the participants were 2 coaches from Bosnia and Herzegovina who obtained a coaching certificate and thus successfully laid the foundations for the development of rowing in BiH.
