Second Tuzla Pannonica Triathlon Cup and Super Kid Aquatlon

More than one hundred participants of all age categories from seven Bosnian clubs gathered today in Tuzla for the Second Tuzla Pannonica Triathlon Cup, which is also the National Championship in the sprint distance, and the first Super Kid Aquathlon.

The city of salt thus breathed the spirit of sports, with the Pannonica lakes and the city center transforming into a hub of good atmosphere and sports camaraderie. The competition was organized by the Triathlon Club "Tuzla" in cooperation with the Triathlon and Pentathlon Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with support from the Olympic Committee of BiH, as part of the celebration of the European Week of Sport and the global #BeActive campaign.

The European Week of Sport and the #BeActive campaign were launched by the initiative of the European Commission in 2015 and are being implemented under the "EU4Youth – European Week of Sport Beyond Borders in the Western Balkans" project, funded by the European Commission through the IPA program, with implementation by the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Family, Youth, and Sports of Republika Srpska, coordinated by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.

“Around seventy participants in the younger categories and just as many seniors from several Bosnian cities are part of this exciting event, where we promote the importance of activity for individuals and the global #BeActive campaign,” emphasized Mirza Hodžić, President of the Triathlon Club "Tuzla" and Race Director.

At the start of the races were participants aged 7 to 66, who, with the support of the audience, competed in swimming at the Pannonica lakes, cycling, and running through the center of Tuzla. The all-day event, as the organizers state, brought a special #BeActive atmosphere to Tuzla and reminded everyone of the importance of engaging in sports and living a healthy life.

“This was a true celebration of sports. We are proud of the younger competitors who showed great courage and love for the sport. We thank the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Commission for enabling us to join the celebration of the European Week of Sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina with this event and become part of the #BeActive campaign. This is a complex organization, and we thank our volunteers, the city of Tuzla, and everyone who contributed to the event and supported the promotion of the values of sport for individuals and the community,” said Mirza Jamaković, Deputy Race Director.

The Second Tuzla Pannonica Triathlon Cup and Super Kid Aquathlon, following the sporting competitions and gatherings held in Cazin, Pale, Zenica, Široki Brijeg, Neum, and East Sarajevo, is one in a series of events that mark the European Week of Sport in our country, and the central event of the #BeActive campaign in BiH will be held on Tuesday, September 23, in Visoko.
