The 4th Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games have officially opened
The opening ceremony of the fourth consecutive Winter Youth Olympic Games began at the Gangneung Oval at 20:00 Korean time (12:00 CET).
Bosnia and Herzegovina national team members Ina Likić (alpine skiing) and Boris Stanojević (biathlon) carried the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the parade of participating countries.
The President of the Organizing Committee of the YOG 2024 Choi Jong-gu, the President of South Korea Yoon Suk-yeol and the President of the IOC Dr. Thomas Bach addressed those present, who thanked the hosts of the Games and everyone involved in the organization. He told the athletes to enjoy the Games and their first Olympic experience, to build new friendships and respect the rules.
The program of the Ceremony was adapted to young participants, presenting Korean culture through song, dance and art. With the lighting of the Olympic flame, the world's most prestigious multisport competition for young athletes up to 18 years of age officially began.
1,802 athletes from 78 Olympic Committees are participating in the Games. In the following competition days, the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by six athletes in three sports: biathlon, alpine skiing and cross-country skiing.

The coaching team consists of Bojan Minić (biathlon), Senad Kazazović (alpine skiing) and Stefan Anić (cross-country skiing).
The first performances of the representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina are expected tomorrow, when Stanojević and Lalović will perform individually in the 12.5 kilometer event at the Alpensia Biathlon Center. The competition is scheduled for 2 p.m. local time, i.e. 6 a.m. CET.
