The Olympic Committee and Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to create Olympic stories
The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina have signed a new four-year contract to continue their long-term cooperation. The ceremonial signing took place before the reception on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the WOG Sarajevo '84 in the Olympic Museum, which began the celebrations of this important jubilee for the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the entire sports community, the City of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"We are happy that the ceremony of renewing the partnership between the Olympic Committee and Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place just in time to celebrate a significant jubilee, 40 years since the Winter Olympic Games were held in Sarajevo. Our joint mission to create unforgettable experiences for fans of Olympic sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina dates back to 1984, when we acted as one of the main sponsors of the Sarajevo Olympics. In order to continue to bring the Olympic feeling closer to all visitors, we proudly continue sponsoring numerous events and competitions in the coming period on the occasion of this significant jubilee. Coca-Cola has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 55 years, and support for sports, culture, youth empowerment and environmental protection are an integral part of our values and investments, which indicate true integration and connection with the community in BiH," said Kenan Idrizović, regional sales manager of Coca-Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo.
For the next four years, Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be a partner of the BiH Olympic Committee and BiH Olympians in preparations for achieving new sports results, legends and memories for the Olympic Museum.
“After a great Olympic past, we are proud to renew our strategic partnership with Coca-Cola, which is a global global brand. The renewal of this important partnership came as a logical continuation of joint support for our top athletes and the promotion of Olympic values - excellence, friendship and respect", said the President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, academician prof. Dr. Izet Rađo.
Coca-Cola was one of the main sponsors of the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo 40 years ago. A can designed for the Olympics in Sarajevo, as well as a branded cap and scarf are part of the permanent exhibit of the WOG '84 museum collection. It is also important to know that Coca-Cola is one of the "TOP" sponsors of the International Olympic Committee, as well as the official sponsor of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024. For the Olympic Committee, these partnerships are of key importance in supporting the promotion of sports and sports events, as well as international participation and representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world.
Reminder: The 1984 Winter Olympic Games were officially opened on February 8 at the Koševo Stadium, and the competitions took place from February 7 to 19. 1,272 competitors from 49 countries in 39 disciplines took part in them. They were followed by 7,825 accredited journalists and 640,000 viewers. In the end, the financial balance also showed a surplus of 12 million dollars, and IOC President Juan Antonio Samarán rated the WOG in Sarajevo as the best organized Games up to that point.
