Two bronzes for BiH at the European Shooting Championships

At the European Shooting Championships in Burgas the Bosnia and Herzegovina team achieved a memorable result — two medals were won in youth categories.

The first European team medal for BiH in the U16 (girls) category was won by:

• Ina Gačić — Shooting Club Belgrand (Teslić)

• Teodora Cvijan — Shooting Club Željezničar (Sarajevo)

• Larisa Mulahmetović — Shooting Club Željezničar (Sarajevo)

After strong qualifications, our girls in the medal match against Russia, in a dramatic shoot-off, showed exceptional mental strength and composure and won the team bronze — the first of its kind in the history of BiH shooting.

The second medal, also bronze, was won in the U18 — duet discipline:

• Amir Memišević

• Zakira Pušina

Amir and Zakira achieved the best result in the qualifications and set a new European record, confirming technical stability and competitive maturity. In the semifinal they lost to Serbia’s top pair (Anastasija Živković / Mihajlo Lončarski), but in the bronze match they deservedly claimed the medal.

Two European medals in two days are a confirmation of the quality and long-term work of the clubs, coaching staffs, trainers and the support of families and sports institutions. It is especially significant that the medals were won in the youngest categories, indicating a bright future for BiH shooting.

Congratulations to the athletes, coaches and everyone who contributed to this success — Bosnia and Herzegovina is writing new pages in shooting history.
